The Claret Jug

The Claret Jug was purchased by the Society as a prize for its matches against representatives of the American Bar Association.  In the event, it was only played for once, at Sunningdale in July 1971, when LSGS won 8-4.  In 1980 the Claret Jug was presented, in memory of Tommy Walmsley, as the trophy for the match against the Bar and Bench and is kept at Woking GC where the match is played.
